@ccareyyoung 's exhibition is now open at now open at Modern Art, Oxford. New work was shot at Mount Pleasant Studio last year. It was great to see the exhibition get a glowing 4 star review in The Guardian.

Such a pleasure to host the opening days of ‘Appearance’, my solo show at Modern Art Oxford. Many thanks to the many people who came to the talk and public opening, a wonderful mix of old and new friends, family, judges and their families, people who worked on the new video, former and current students, the wonderful team at the gallery and people from the fascinating mix of Oxford itself. I’ll post more on the many other works soon.

They've been a great success - only thing is, they don't heat up the studio on cold mornings! I had to do some research in the Romford Recorder

I had to do some research in the Romford Recorder to get the back story to this shoot for M&S. Staff members from M&S Romford got to number 2 on the iTunes Xmas chart last year thanks to hugely popular TIkTok videos in which they performed boy band songs. This is their attempt to get one place higher this year, with the help of Terry Coldwell from East17 and the team at @park_district who shot @mountpleasantstudio last week.

• @park_district We made a music video for Team Romford and M&S and featuring @terrycoldwellofficial from East17. Pushing to get this tune to number 1 in the Christmas charts. So please go stream and/or download from iTunes and money will go to S.M.I.L.E supporting community lead projects in and around London.

Here’s a 60 second film documenting the replacement of our hot, power hungry spacelights with state of the art Nanlux Dyno 650C LED soft light panels. They are twice as bright, wirelessly dimmable and tuneable to daylight, tungsten or any colour you like. Unlike the spacelights,they hardly give out any heat, which is great for long livestreamed shoots, for example.

We’ve been supplied by 100% renewable energy since 2008, but it still seemed wrong to be burning 48000 watts when LED panels consume 10% of that.

They were only installed last Wednesday, but we’ve already had a great reaction from clients doing recces of the studio. Please come and have a look. Oh, and if you’ve got this far and you don’t follow us, please do. We’re up to 995 followers and it would be great for our fragile egos if we could break the 1000 barrier this week.

Our new Nanlux Soft Panel Lights will mainly be daylight or tungsten, but they can be any colour temperature and any colour you like, and unlike our old spacelights they won't make the studio hot. They are also much brighter and controllable wirelessly via the device in the second image.

Our spacelights have gone. Replaced by 8 Nanlux Dyno 650C LED Soft Lights. No more sweltering under hot lights and these are MUCH brighter and can be any brightness or colour you want, controlled wirelessly (swipe to second image to see control interface). They are going to be great. Let us know if you’d like to come and have a recce.
